Samsung Galaxy S

Since the Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung’s most popular Android phone, has been released there has been a great deal of talk, from both phone reviewers and by members of the general public who have bought the phone about it being one of the best smartphones on the market. I have to admit that I do agree with this assertion, the Galaxy S is a fantastic handset. But what is it that makes the phone so good, and why is it better than other phones on the market? Here are some of the better features on Samsung’s flagship phone that will hopefully help you realize just why this is thought of as a very special mobile indeed.
Firstly, the phone has a more than impressive camera. This has become something that is very important to mobile phone owners over the last decade and customers will no longer settle for a below par camera. Although the Galaxy S does not rival the Nokia N8, for example, in terms of mobile phone cameras it does boast a great 5 mega pixel camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels and features such as autofocus, geo-tagging and face and smile detection so you can just snap away to your heart’s content.

Apple sues Samsung over the Galaxy line of mobile devices

Here is yet another lawsuit to add to the growing number in the wireless industry. On Friday, Apple filed a patent and trademark infringement lawsuit against Samsung over the design features used in the manufacturer’s Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets. The Cupertino company claims in its suit that “Instead of pursuing independent product development, Samsung has chosen to slavishly copy Apple’s innovative technology, distinctive user interfaces, and elegant and distinctive product and packaging design, in violation of Apple’s valuable intellectual property rights.”

The suit contains 10 charges of patent infringement, two trademark violations and more in the suit filed in the district court in San Francisco. Product’s targeted by the Cupertino company in its lawsuit include the Epic 4G, Captivate, Indulge, Nexus S, Galaxy S 4G and the Galaxy Tab. Specifically, the suit alleges Samsung copied the rounded corners, silver edge, curving back and more that characterize Apple’s mobile products. The packaging for the Galaxy devices was also mentioned as an example of infringement by the Korean electronics manufacturer. Apple has asked for an injunction against Samsung to halt the sales of these infringing devices as well as punitive damages.

Samsung HZ35W(WB650) and HZ30W(WB600) Digital Cameras

samsung-wb650-hz35As we all know that Samsung is one of the leading market innovator in electronic appliances has unveiled its two brand new digital cameras named HZ35W & HZ30W known in Europe as WB650 and WB600 respectively. What so interesting about HZ35W(WB650) & HZ30W(WB600)?  The interesting thing about HZ35W &HZ30W is its specification and functions. Both the cameras come with a 12.2megapixel censor and has a impressive increase in optical zoom with 15x. A very useful lens of 24mm ultra wide angle and image stabilization option is also the key features in these two models.HZ35W contains a large 3.0inch amoled screen display whereas HZ30W has 3.0inch TFT LCD screen. Both the camera offers 720p HD video recording using H.264 compression with optional HDMI connectivity.HZ35W(WB650) also comes with a built-in GPS technology that includes geo tagging with location data ,real time location display, advanced real dual image and many more while HZ30W lacks in GPS.
The Drawbacks:
The major drawback was found in HZ30W(WB600) as it lacks the technology of GPS and did not contain the amoled screen display whereas HZ35W(WB650) contains all these technology. There were also talks about its upgradation that despite being the successor and TL320 (WB) and HZ15W (WB) they have not been powerly upgraded as their other cameras. Now these are the notable things but still these cameras are good enough to have.
Reception:
Still to be released, both the cameras are two of the most awaited gadgets and the Marketing General Manager of Samsung Digital Imaging has said that these cameras are have everything that a customer should expect. The company has claimed that exceptional features of the camera will surely attract the customers from all part of the world. Samsung Galaxy S II Prototype Spotted

Thanks to gagadget, a prototype of the Galaxy S II has been pictured as well as captured on video (see embed below).
The device is believed to be a pre-production model which is close to the final version when it arrives. The two videos show the hardware and software running on the device, and from what we see and hear, it scores very well in the mini review.
Video quality (3rd embedded video), looks to be good. The Galaxy S II is capable of capturing in 1080p.
The technical specs are decent as well. When launched, it will run Android 2.3. It also will run the TouchWiz 4.0 user interface. The processor is dual-core and runs at 1GHz. The screen is a new version of the Super AMOLED and now includes a Plus on the end which is essentially a slight change in how pixels work
The new smartphone will be arriving in the next few weeks to a month or so.

Samsung LCD Strategy Outlined

galaxy tab 10 11 300x218 Samsung LCD Strategy OutlinedOver the next few years, we will more than likely be seeing higher pixel density screens according to Samsung. By 2015, the company expects to have screens that have a higher pixel density of about 300 to 400 PPI which will be made available for tablets to use.
The slide show was presented at CTIA and explained that screens would see a density increase, while getting thinner and having better power requirements. Right now, a 24.8Wh battery could last around 6 hours with the next version (200-300PPI) lasting around 8 hours and then in 2015 the 300 to 400 PPI lasting around 10 hours. Each iteration will get thinner than the previous model.
One thing to remember here is that the screen sizes listed on the screenshot below might not be the exact tecnhnical specs that Samsung is shooting for as they might beat them earlier.
As well as working on the pixel density, Samsung is also working on a glasses-free 3D future for screens, in particular the middle of the screens that carries 200 – 300 pixels. This option is still being evaluated though as Samsung isn’t 100 percent clear where 3D is going at the moment.

Samsung Reveals HM1610, HM3600 And MODUS 6450 BT Headsets

Bluetooth headsets aren't nearly as huge as they once were, but they aren't dead yet. Samsung Mobile has been pretty reliably releasing new ones over the past few years, and this week they're introducing three more. The HM1610, HM3600 and the dual mono/stereo Modus 6450 are available today at www.samsung.com/accessories for $39.99, $59.99 and $99.99, respectively, but let's dive in a bit to see what each offers.

The next-gen Modus 6450 is a noise-cancelling Bluetooth headset with the capability to stream stereo audio, and it can be worn as a mono-style headset for placing and receiving calls and readily transforms into a stereo Bluetooth headset when connected to the included stereo ear bud headset for an enhanced audio experience. The 6450 improves on its predecessor, the HM3500, with a premium headphone set, Android application support, voice command functionality, and EQ settings. Rather than just simple voice prompts, the Modus 6450 implements voice commands and EQ settings through a separate Voice Command Button on the headset, distinguishing it from most competitors that must use a multifunction button for voice command start.
The HM3600 is a more basic version that does away with advanced extras in order to keep costs down, while the HM1610 is a more stylish low-end mono headset with an active wind noise reduction algorithm. n addition to sound quality, the HM1610 offers advanced multipoint technology that allows seamless connectivity between two Bluetooth-enabled audio-streaming devices, including mobile phones, computers and MP3 players. The HM1610 also features high fidelity media streaming, ensuring stereo-quality sound from a traditional mono Bluetooth headset.

Modus 6450 – A Dual Headset Offering an Advanced Stereo Experience

The elegant next-generation Modus 6450 wraps the best in functionality, fun and fashion in a sleek crystal-blue form factor. The Modus is designed for consumers looking for a conventional noise-cancelling Bluetooth headset with the capability to stream stereo audio. It can be worn as a mono-style headset for placing and receiving calls and readily transforms into a stereo Bluetooth headset when connected to the included stereo ear bud headset for an enhanced audio experience.

The Modus supports a multitude of advanced noise cancellation features and a dual microphone design to separate the user’s voice from the surrounding background noise. When enjoying rich, full-fidelity Bluetooth stereo while also connected to a phone, the Modus will gently mute the stereo audio, allowing the user to answer or initiate phone calls and seamlessly restores its settings when the call is complete. The user can also stream full fidelity audio and enjoy the rich sound through the single earpiece of the Bluetooth headset.

The Modus 6450 is compatible with its own specially-designed Android application, Samsung FreeSync – equipped with several features that set it apart from other applications, including EQ settings for stereo mode, LED settings, and language selection.

The FreeSync application allows for text-to-speech messaging and caller ID services and the ability to enable or disable Bluetooth headset functions through the application. Via the FreeSync application, owners of the Modus 6450 can receive incoming phone calls, SMS messages, email, and appointment notifications through a friendly text to speech interface that personally reads information to you. Additionally, the headset and the app work together to allow for voice command, pairing assist, multiple language support and control of various headset and stereo EQ settings.
